About U3A Glenorchy
The City of Glenorchy is a municipality in the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania. It lies between the foothills of Mount Wellington and the River Derwent.
Glenorchy University of the Third Age (U3A Glenorchy) had its beginnings in 2007 and the first classes were conducted in 2008. We received great support from the community and a number of organisations, and we are indebted to the invaluable assistance provided by the Glenorchy City Council. Our original home was in the Berriedale Community Centre, but we have since moved into more spacious facilities at Cosgrove High School. We also have a comfortable Members’ Common Room with tea and coffee making facilities, where members can meet and chat between classes. We also have a library.
